healthy seafood, mercury in seafood, Seafood greatness, seafood health facts, tastes of the world
In this world these days, finding healthy food is getting harder and harder, with more mass production and bigger company’s thinking only about their pocket and not about what might be good and healthy.
But through the darkness we see some light, something shining to us and calling to us, and that is seafood.
Seafood is simply great, one cannot say different, first of all it is very healthy, in most seafoods you have low carbs, it can lower blood pressure, it has high amounts of the vitamin B’s, and it’s low in fat, and not to mention omega 3.
Not only is it healthy, it tastes good too, in fact it tastes so good that many ” vegetarians” eat it, and they are supposed to care about these creatures.
But why when it is so healthy do so many people not like it?
More people say they do not like fish or shellfish then any other “meat”, many people are bothered by the inconvenience of having to pick out a bone or 2 from the fish filet, but with most people it is purely psychological, that probably comes from their childhood ( but don’t worry I am not going all Freud on you in this post).
Some people are afraid of the levels of mercury in seafood, and yes some fish (halibut, many kinds of tuna, sharks) have high levels of mercury and you should not go around eating that every week, but the danger is minimal,
Other seafood like shrimp, salmon, oysters, catfish, are low in these metals and should be eaten and enjoyed regularly.
The smell of fish might turn some people off, but the taste is enough to turn anybody on, but if you want to look at it in another way, most fish are cannibals, so the more fish you eat the less cannibals are left on this earth, so do your part, save the planet by getting rid of these “evil” cannibals once and for all.
